Doubleknit #19

April 18, 2009

Our youngest son is having his 9th birthday party tonight. There are little boys shrieking their heads off all over my house. You know that level of energy they get when they can only scream until they lose their freaking minds? That's where we are. It will be "bedtime" soon.

The sale at the shop was huge today. There is still a load of great yarns on clearance and all other yarns on sale all day Sunday at 20% off.

I am exhausted.

Also, Shalom is finished except for a little blocking and sewing on a button.

Tomorrow is pancake breakfast for party guests, back-to-back kid musical performances including a visit from the in-laws then, most likely, lapsing into a coma.

Doubleknit note: For some reason the latest podcast is not updating in iTunes. We are working on it. In the meantime you can always listen to it from the Doubleknit blog.

Crossover Episode

Jenny Check from Stash and Burn and her husband, Harold, visited Seattle this weekend. I learned about their plans to visit while listening to Stash and Burn #55. I had spaced out a bit for a moment then snapped back when I realized that Jenny and Nicole were discussing Seattle. Then I realized that not only were they talking about Seattle, they were talking about me! Just then older son walked up and started talking. I told him to wait so I could hear what was being said.

"Why?", he asked. "What are they talking about?"
"They're talking about me," I told him.
I got a very dubious look.

Anyway, I picked up Jenny and Harold from their hotel and took them on a late Saturday afternoon yarn crawl. We only made it two shops because we got distracted by cupcakes. It was wonderful to meet them both. When I would turn my head and I could hear Jenny talk it was the oddest feeling. The voice is so familiar but the person is all new.

Any other knitters visiting Seattle? Let me know.

Jenny got to briefly meet my podcasting partner, Erin. I was kicking myself later. I should have recorded at least a minute or two of all three of us together. It could have been like when the cast of Diff'rent Strokes would show up on The Facts Of Life.

Breakfast of Champions

This morning I went out in the yard "just for a minute" to trim back what the goats ate last night. An hour and a half later I was still out there. My co-worker, Debbie, asked me yesterday if the goats have uncovered anything interesting. Does my neighbor's garage count?

I ran over to Erin's after that to record Doubleknit episode 2. I brought cupcakes. Erin said, "Yay, breakfast!"

Rebecca came by last night to take some photos with the goats.

Here is your daily moment of goat zen with awesome munchilicious sound.
